First Post! Setting the mood...

This blog is so I can post about my 15mm 1980s Cold War Imagin-nations. I have several North and Sub-Saharan African Factions/Nations in near complete stages. I'll be posting up pics and story in the coming posts.

Federal Republic of Mumbia - Mumbia Grand Army of the Republic - MGAR - former Portuguese colony and former Soviet-bloc state, Mumbia is now headed by a former anti-colonial rebel turned dictator. Considered a rogue state to the international community.

Mumbia Separatist Front - MSF - Seasoned rebel army headed by former high ranking MGAR General. Being quietly funded and armed by Ubunto.

People's Democratic Republic of Ubunto - Ubunto National Defense Force - UNDF - Mumbia's Soviet backed belligerent southern neighbor. Ubunto's President Osumi has been calling for war with Mumbia for months over a border dispute. Though a victory in a war with Mumbia would enable Ubunto greater regional strength.

Ubunto Liberation Army-  ULA - Anti-Osumi army secretly funded, armed and trained by the CIA. Ubunto's geographical location and resources make it a highly desirable region.

Emirate of Kubal - Army of the Exalted Emir of Kubal - AEEK- Landlocked Soviet-client oil state with Ubunto to the west, and Wadiya to the north. Ubunto and Kubal share an alliance including mutual trade and military agreements. Kubal transports crude oil through Ubunto to the West African coast. Emir Raheem reigns over the tiny country.

Kingdom of Wadiya - Royal Armed Forces of Wadiya - RAFW- His Majesty King Ali rules over the oil rich coastal nation of Wadiya. Wadiya has invested heavily into domestic weapons production having locally produced copies of cold war equipment such as it's famous T-72 copy aka the Golden Lion. King Ali has been selling cheap oil to Mumbia.

For the miniatures manufacturers my forces are a mix of Old Glory/Command Decision and Battlefront for the vehicles; Old Glory, Rebel Minis, Peter Pig and QRF for infantry and light weapons.
